What is the IR Filter
IR cut filters are beneficial devices that can improve image quality and performance by blocking out infrared light. They can prevent colour distortion, focus shift, noise, and graininess, as well as improve colour accuracy, contrast, focus, sharpness, low-light performance, compatibility, and versatility. They are also protect the Sensor.

When do you need a new IR Filter?
If you have followed the cleaning instructions and that stubborn mark/line won't go, then it's likely that you will need a new IR Filter.

Reasons your IR Filter is damaged
The most unpopular reason for an IR Filter are scratches, these are usually caused by the filter being knocked against another surface, but can also be caused by the cleaning process, if the cleaning cloth/tool picks up dust, and that dust is dragged across the surface this may cause light scratches. Fungus is rare but if moisture gets under the IR filter, it will feed on the Infra Red coating. This damage is easily recognisable as it looks like the veins of a leaf. 

What is the Procedure
The Back needs to be delivered to our service point in London
The Back will then be sent to the Phase One Service Centre where it will undergo a full service check as well as an IR Filter exchange.

Check Firmware Level and upgrade where required
Check and replace repair ports
Check and test media ports
Check and test the touch screen interface
Clean the Sensor and replace the IR Filter
Test Back

The service and exchange IR Filter is £1000 + VAT
The cost of shipping the Back to Phase One by Secure and Insured International Courier 2x £50 + VAT
Optional - Cost of Collecting from UK address - Secure and Insured domestic Courier £20 + VAT
