The Sinar Multipurpose Standard is a versatile accessory for Sinar large format cameras that serves as an intermediate bellows support for long extensions, a holder for other accessories like mirrors, and a subject stage for macro and copying work. It is part of the Sinar modular system and can be used to extend the bellows beyond 40 cm, support accessories like the binocular magnifier, and be adapted for different functions. 

Key functions of the Multipurpose Standard:

  • Intermediate standard: It provides support for the bellows when using very long extensions, especially for macro photography where a reproduction of 1:1 is needed, such as with the Sinaron 120mm lens.
  • Accessory holder: It can hold mirrors for special photographic effects or serve as a holder for the binocular magnifier to make viewing the ground glass easier.
  • Subject stage: It functions as an adjustable stage for close-up and copying photography, and its various versions (like the Multipurpose Standard II) offer fine focusing drives for precision.
  • Coupling and alignment: It can act as a coupling piece and helps maintain the alignment of the bellows with the camera axis, especially in conjunction with other camera movements.
